Top 8 Reasons to celebrate your next adult birthday there:
1) They send out Chuck E. Cheese email invites that are all cartoony and much cooler than e-vites.
2) The party package includes 2 (tiny) slices of pizza and cake and refillable drinks and 20 tokens per person (more if you opt out of their cake), but if you have an adult appetite for food, drinks and games, your guests can buy their own additional stuff.
3) Chuck E. Cheese himself will come out to wish the lucky lass or lad a happy birthday (but one of my attendees was horrified when the animatronic mouse slid out onto the stage at the same time that an employee in a Chuck E. Cheese costume was at our table wishing us all a good party. After all, how could there be TWO? But maybe if we were under 10 we wouldn't have noticed. If bringing real kids, lie lie lie)
4) The birthday boy or girl gets a balloon, and birthday crown, which you should make them wear all night whether they want to or not.
5) The employees who will be younger than you have to put on a "special birthday show" aka a Macarena-esque choreographed dance and song with the words Happy Birthday in it. The sheer embarassment on their faces at the fact that they are forced to perform for you 'adults' will be the best present you could give your friend.
6) You get to play awesome video games and old-school arcade things like Whac-a-mole. As if playing games isn't enough, they give you tickets for doing so. And then...
7) You can exchange your tickets for prizes! Who doesn't want to win something? Even the least coordinated one of your group can win a smiley face eraser. I got a sweet plush flower with a cartoon face (like a stuffed animal but not an animal, know what I'm sayin?)
8) It closes at 10pm so you still have time to go out and drink if you so choose.
